This time we will talk about tanabata festival.....
Have you checked calendar? Yes, July is coming soon, isn't it? Well, of course if you go to Japan at July, you should celebrate tanabata festival on 7th July.... It's one of famous festival in Japan and China..
Well, Tanabata is originating from Qixi Festival. Chinese Star Festival. The story of tanabata is about the meeting of lover stars, vega and altar that separated by Milky way and they can meet each other with the stars bridge on 7th July of lunar calendar
There are so many version of tanabata but the main story is always about the separated lovers which can meet each other on the stars bridge or magpie birds bridge.
At the ends of tanabata, the bamboo and decorations are often set afloat on a river or burned after the festival, around midnight or on the next day. In some regions, people light lanterns and float them on the river, or float bamboo leaves on the river.
When i joined kaiwa kurabu last week, i was told about tanabata story from Sendai prefecture that most famous for the tanabata Festival in Japan. In Sendai, Tanabata is celebrated from 6th August to 8th August. The tanabata story is told about a girl who being separated by her father because after getting married to her husband, both them became lazy and didn't hardworking. They meet each other on Tanabata Festivals....
The second biggest tanabata festivals comes from Hiratsuka , Kanagawa on 7th July. Well, tanabata festivals is so lovely, isn't it.
Also, dont forget to write a wish on tanzaku/ paper strips and hang it on bamboo trees with other tanabata's ornaments.
I really love tanabata festivals because it's near my birthday too... And Guys, if you want to make tanabata's trees you can prepare:

On tanzaku i write about, " i hope my japanese can be better than before and i will study hard for achieve my dream...." Just hope i can do all my wish...
